Through its publication, The Layman, and its online presence The Layman Online (www.layman.org), the Presbyterian Lay Committee provides information to Presbyterians nationwide concerning issues of interest – from theology and denominational issues to property/legal issues and congregational realignment from one denomination to another.

President and Executive Director Carmen Fowler LaBerge is available to provide interviews regarding all types of Presbyterian news, as well as cultural and theological issues. With 17 years of pastoral ministry experience, 20 years in mainline renewal work and three years at the helm of the Lay Committee, she has a wealth of knowledge to share. Carmen is also available to teach and preach at churches or speak at events concerning Presbyterian issues. A graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary, her pastoral experience includes serving at the 5,600-member First Presbyterian Church in Orlando, Fla., the 600 member Providence Presbyterian Church on Hilton Head Island, SC and the 100- member Rabun Gap Presbyterian Church in the mountains of northeast Georgia. She has taught seminars, delivered sermons and keynote speeches nationwide.
