The World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) has called for prayers after 295 people, including 27 Australians, died in the crash of Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 near the Ukrainian Russian border.
“We offer our condolences to all the families and friends who have lost love ones,” Dr. Geoff Tunnicliffe, Secretary General of the WEA, said in a statement.
“I am calling on our global family to pray for those who have lost family or friends as a result of the tragedy,” Dr. Tunnicliff said.
Though the exact motive behind the downing of the flight is yet to be confirmed, suspicions are that the hostile act was committed by people engaged in the ongoing conflict in the region.

As we see the faces of those who died at no fault of their own,
Lord Jesus,
like the thief on the cross, may they enter Thy Kingdom.
