"I found not one book that affirmed the historical, Christian faith of the Presbyterian Church USA, nor did one book affirm a Biblical sexual ethic. Rather the books have common themes that deny scripture as authoritative and as God's word, promote pantheism, relativism, and syncretism, and some even instruct on how to have good "gay" sex."

So writes Rev. Esther M. Berg about the resources listed in Young Women Speak, the flagship publication of the National Network of Presbyterian College Women. Berg read each of the resources listed in Young Women Speak and has posted excerpts on the website of Voices of Orthodox Women.

The January/February issue of The Presbyterian Layman also published excerpts of the resources recommended by the radical women's group.

Despite its finding that NNPCW resources "clearly violated the policies of the PC(USA), [and were] inconsistent with the church's confessional standards" and that the Network's mission statement failed "to even mention Jesus Christ, or to explicitly state that having a saving relationship with Jesus is important," a task force mandated by the 1998 General Assembly is recommending that the 1999 GA double the group's funding.

An overture from Beaver-Butler presbytery asks the 1999 Assembly to stop sponsoring and funding the controversial organization.
