![]() Per-capita to remain voluntary The Layman Online Saturday, June 16, 2001 Overture 01-01 from Scioto Valley Presbytery, which asked that congregational per-capita payments be made mandatory, was defeated by the assembly without discussion. The assembly's polity committee had urged disapproval. Committee moderator Ted Wardlaw of Greater Atlanta told commissioners, "The spirit of our constitution affirms that per-capita is voluntary. While we move disapproval of this overture, we urge sessions to pay per-capita." |
