A Call to Prayer The Layman Online Friday, June 25, 1999 Dear Layman Online readers, This is a pivotal day in the Fort Worth General Assembly. The signs are ominous. Major issues will be decided today, and the liberal forces are very strong. We ask for your prayers. Pray that our commissioners will not lose heart, that they will stand firm on the Scriptures. Pray that they will not fall into confusion under intense lobbying by voices of accommodation to a decaying culture. Pray that they will keep their eyes on Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith, and that they will give faithful testimony to our Lord Jesus Christ at every microphone on the floor of this assembly. Pray that in the course of this day, all things will work together for good among those who love the Lord Jesus and are called according to his purpose. Sincerely, Presbyterian Layman reporters: Jack Adams Paula Kincaid Bob Mills Parker Williamson |
