The Universe Next Door: A Basic Worldview Catalog,

3rd ed., James W. Sire
(Downers Grove: InterVarsity Press, 1997, 237 pp., $13.99)

Reviewed by Robert P. Mills

First published in 1976, this classic work has been updated and brought “into the context of the mid-1990s.” Its 10 chapters examine such basic worldviews as deism, naturalism, existentialism, eastern pantheistic monism, the New Age, and postmodernism, which are clearly contrasted with orthodox Christian theism. This is a work that deserves to be in the library of every pastor, elder, and Sunday School teacher. It would also make a marvelous gift for high school or college students. (RPM)
