The LEPERS keep hoping

(PLC) – The Research Triangle Park area in North Carolina is a world-class medical, scientific and business community. But there is a self-proclaimed Presbyterian leper colony in its midst. Actually, the colony is known as LEPERS, all caps.

That stands for "Lonely Evangelical Pastors Expecting Renewal – Someday."

Currently high on the LEPERS’ agenda are prayer and efforts to defeat the proposed Amendment A, which would allow the ordination of practicing homosexuals as church officers.

The LEPERS are members of New Hope Presbytery, which last year voted 172-140 against Amendment B.
