Toward the Renewal of the Churches The Presbyterian Layman Friday, March 26, 1999 “Word and Spirit: Toward the Renewal of the Churches,” a conference sponsored by Reformation & Revival Ministries, will be held June 10-12, 1999 at the University of Dubuque. The conference is designed “for those prayerfully interested in renewal in mainline churches.” Plenary speakers will include Donald Bloesch, professor of theology emeritus at Dubuque Theological Seminary, William Abraham, John Armstrong, Carl Braaten and J.I. Packer. Seminar leaders from the PCUSA include Mark Achtemeier of Dubuque; Susan Cyre, executive director of Presbyterians for Faith, Family and Ministry; Terry Schlossberg, executive director of Presbyterians Pro-Life; and Parker Williamson, executive editor of The Presbyterian Layman.
