Clipped comments Volume 34, Number 7 Posted November 30, 2001 Loyalty is a virtue, not a vice. It is a synonym for faithfulness. We admire loyalty in Boy Scouts, dogs, spouses and alumni. Children pledge allegiance. Presidents take oaths of office. And ministers, elders, and deacons take ordination vows. It is reasonable to expect that church leaders would be loyal to the Churchs faith.
