An evangelical Presbyterian leader says the unbiblical argument being put forth in a book being released today by Multnomah will satisfy the “itching ears” of those looking for scriptural affirmation of same-sex relationships.
A subsidiary of WaterBrook Multnomah is releasing a book today written by a young homosexual from Wichita, Kansas, who tries to justify his lifestyle as well as same-sex “marriage” through scripture. Carmen Fowler LaBerge, president of the Presbyterian Lay Committee, knows Mathew Vines, who was raised in an evangelical Presbyterian church. LaBerge, who has read Vines’ book, tells OneNewsNow that it fits nicely with homosexual activism.
“My concern is certainly that he and his personal story have been coopted by a much greater and larger effort that’s seeking to undermine the rightful place of scripture in the life of the church and seeking to undermine the life of evangelical congregations, regardless of their denomination,” she shares.
